I am too behind on blogging, so I will try and catch up this week. We have had so many things going on since school started that blogging is the last thing on my mind.
I have one second to do a small post, so here it is!
We had our annual campout with the Orgill family over Labor Day weekend. Well, this year it was pretty much just the Chris Orgill and Gudmundson family, and the Carter's. We had a blast and those who weren't there missed out!!
Jonny couldn't come this year because of work so I took the 4 boys and hauled them to Cedar City all alone. It rained on the way there and we had our clothes and sleeping bags on the roof so I had to pull over and put them in the car. I set up camp on my own and when I finished it was late and dark. I made dinner by lantern light and then we went to bed. It rained again in the night and we woke up to a wet tent floor. I only had 4 hours of sleep the night before so I was exhausted and wanted to sleep in a little, so the boys got up and went to the fire and I slept a little longer. But not even a half an hour later Ethan is running over and telling me that he has to go to the bathroom. And although I hurried to get out and get him to the bathroom, I wasn't fast enough. We had a lovely mess to clean up and he got a nice mountain temperature bath in the sink. That night I made a chicken and potatoes meal that would NOT cook. We finally ate in the dark, again, and it was really good ashy chicken and hard potatoes. mmm.
The rest of the trip wasn't so bad and those were just minor setbacks. We all still had a lot of fun and although it was quite difficult camping with the boys on my own, I would do it again. And I did have some help from the family, so thanks family for that!!
I hope next year we will see everyone there! No excuses! I went into labor with Spencer while camping and barely made it to the hospital in time and I took Ethan camping when he was 5 weeks old, so nobody can use those as excuses not to come! Haha-see you all next year! (but hopefully before then, too.)
